Heartworm Season is Here!

As we move into the warmer months, it’s the perfect time to talk about something that can seriously affect your pet’s health but is completely preventable—heartworm disease.

🦟 What Is Heartworm Disease?

Heartworm disease is a potentially life-threatening condition caused by parasitic worms transmitted through mosquito bites. These worms live in the heart, lungs, and blood vessels of infected pets and can cause severe lung disease, heart failure, and damage to other organs. It’s a slow and silent threat—many dogs don’t show signs until the disease is advanced.

🛡 Why Prevention Is So Important

Prevention is not only much easier than treatment—it’s also far safer and more affordable. That’s why we recommend seasonal heartworm prevention for all dogs (during months of potential mosquito exposure — June through November). Our comprehensive prevention products also protect against fleas and ticks, offering peace of mind all season long.

🧪 The Importance of Annual Testing

Even if your dog was on time for their prevention last season, annual heartworm BLOOD testing is strongly recommended. No prevention is 100%, and early detection is key if there’s ever a lapse in coverage.

We offer three options for testing:

  • Heartworm test – screens for presence of heartworm ONLY

  • 4DX Test – screens for heartworm and three tick-borne diseases (Lyme, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma)

  • 4DX Wellness Test – includes all of the above plus a full wellness blood panel to give us a comprehensive look at your pet’s health

💸 Special Offers for a Healthy Start

To support our clients in choosing the best medical care for their pets, we’re offering:

  • 10% off a 6-month supply of heartworm/flea/tick prevention with a 4DX test

  • 6th month FREE when you purchase 6 months of prevention after a 4DX Wellness test

Let’s keep your dog safe, happy, and healthy this season!
