COVID-19 Protocol Update as of APRIL 9, 2020

WE ARE STILL HERE FOR YOU!

Veterinary medicine (urgent care)  has been deemed an essential service, which means that we will be able to care for your pet. If your pet is sick, in pain or distress, we are still here to help. We are receiving constant updates from the government as well as our governing body regarding the scope of care we are able to provide while still respecting the rules of social distancing and doing our part to ensure we help to flatten the curve. We are hoping the information below provides some clarity regarding how we can help and some areas where we will need to reduce service in order for everyone to stay safe and healthy.

WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU

1) Answer all of your phone calls.

2) Provide diagnostic work ups and urgent care for any sick,
uncomfortable or distressed pet.

3) Provide Telemedicine (ZOOM) consultations for other non-life
threatening patient health concerns.

4) Continue to prescribe and refill medications using our curbside pick
up system.

5) Continue to prescribe and dispense parasite prevention such as flea,
tick and heartworm preventives.

6) Continue to offer surgical services in situations to prevent suffering
where medical management is not an option.

7) Provide some vaccinations based on patients risk.

8 ) Continue to provide pet food using either our online store MyVetstore or using our curbside clinic pick up

WHAT WE NEED TO POSTPONE AND HELP YOU DEVELOP A PLAN B FOR

1) Wellness exams and some vaccines

2) Most elective surgeries

3) Grooming services

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rest assured, we have systems in place to keep track of any of your pet’s medical needs that will require deferral and we will be sure to stay in contact with you so we can catch up on routine medical procedures as soon as we are able.
We also understand that there may be unique circumstances specific to you and your pet. Please continue to reach out to us, so we can discuss your pet’s individual needs and come up with a plan to make sure we are keeping your pet healthy and safe while keeping all of us healthy and safe too!
We are still open with a “closed-door” policy in place. Please call us when you arrive at the clinic for instructions.
We will continue to keep you updated as the situation evolves.
We are in this together, and we will get through this together.
Talk to us. You are not alone. We are honoured to be here to help.
Sincerely,
The Doctors and Staff of Western Animal Clinic
